When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information displayed on the comments form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help identify spam.

An anonymized string (also called hash) created from your email address can be submitted to Gravatar to see if you are using it. The Gravatar Privacy Policy is available here: After you accept your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public with your comment.

If you upload images to a website, you should avoid downloading images with embedded location information (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the Site may download and extract any location information from the images on the Website.

If you leave a comment on our website, you may choose to store your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your information again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and will be rejected when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set several cookies to store your login information and screen selection. Login cookies last for two days and display settings cookies for one year. If you select "Remember me", your login will remain for two weeks. If you sign out of your account, sign-in cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish the article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information and simply shows the message ID of the article you just edited. It expires in 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). The embedded content on other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if a visitor had visited another website.

These sites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and track your interactions with the embedded content, including your interactions with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your information with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the recovery message.

How long we keep your information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be kept for now. This allows us to automatically identify and accept any follow-up comments instead of keeping them in the control queue.

We also store personal information provided by users who have registered on our site (if any) in their user profiles. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Webmasters can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have to your information?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal information we hold about you, including any information you provide to us. You can also request that we delete all personal information we hold about you. This does not include information that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your information

Visitor comments can be verified through an automated spam detection service.
